My latest xlch I’m doing is mostly stock and runs good but has the dreaded chrome swigarm. Is it possible to switch it out and get it back together with the correct bearing tension without pulling the engine?

Yes, absolutely. After you pull the swingarm axle, you may have to back off the big nut on the right side of the swingarm to loosen the tension.
