This is maybe a bit "off topic", but as the topic is "R" shocks ...
As the 63R shocks are the best looking shocks I have ever seen on an ironhead, I have been looking for them since ages. Unfortunately they are to rare to be available for reasonable prices. Paying 1500 US$ for a set of 50year old de-carbon shocks, that will definitely need a serious rebuild from a professional which costs another 1000 US$ seems to be beyond any rational idea.
There is a well known company in Germany that produces motorcycle shocks also "on special order" -- and I was thinking to have some sets of reproduction 63R shocks produced. Not to gain any profit, just for me and some friends and whoever is interested. Besides the fact that anyone who is interested could let me know, I would need someone nice here, that is in the position to provide measurements from the original shocks -- of course the reproduction should look like an original shock and not only "close to". Anyone having access to a set of shocks and would provide data?
Have a look at my current 3D model of the 63R shock -- I am serious about this:
