Quite a good report! Thanks Dave. It is an amazing difference, especially on a performance machine, between solid plug wires over all others. Just wires...
I don't know if this was already mentioned, but the big twin coil mount holes were 5/16" while those for K and early Sportster were 3/8". If you want to use the big twin coil with the K and Sporty 3/8" studs, you will have to drill out the mount holes.
I think there were K or KHs bought by a European country maybe Belgium or Sweden for police service. And was there 2 different coil/tool box stud sizes used on K/KHs, 5/16 & 3/8 inches?
Hello, Thanking everyone for their help. I picked up a coil yesterday which I think is still wrong but I bought it cause it was there. My pic's are too big to post. It is round and has the wires fastened with plastic nuts exiting the top. Not shown it my book. Also had the staggered studs shown in previous post by JerryR. Am I better or worse off? Thank you for the help.
Hi Roadbum, If you want to email me the pictures at [email protected] I'll size them and post them for you. The coil studs both early and late were two lengths. The picture shows the longer of the two latter ones and the shorter of the two early ones. Not only were the threads different for early and late but the studs diameter was also larger for the latter.
