Front Brake Pivot Stud

Postby MattInDillsburg » Sat Jan 06, 2018 8:16 am

I am looking for a 44156-54 pivot stud for a half hub front brake. They seem to be hard to find and expensive if I do find one. Does anyone know what the major difference is between that and the newer 44156-64 pivot stud? If it is just a matter of length, I am thinking that I can machine down the 44156-64 part.

I started a post on this awhile back. Search "Front brake pivot stud". Patrick indicates you can use the later one if you trim it down. Mark

I ordered the 64 version on eBay. It's half price of what I could find the 54 version for. I got a good deal on a decent half-hub wheel, but by the time I piece together a brake plate that might cost as much as the wheel. My goal is to get everything pretty good and get this project on the road. It's going to look like a 60 year old bike, but I am OK with that. I'd just like to start with as many stock parts as possible within my budget. It will be a mild custom but more in the realm of a cut-down / tracker.

From there I can start making it better if I want. Things like new rims, spokes, etc.

Hi. I don't know what you need but I am starting to let some extra K parts go to concentrate on the main builds. Lived at my shop like a hermit and bought K parts in the 80s. Everything I could...so outright or ebay im taking requests. Listing K Cylinders today and for a while whatever pops up! Thank you. EKHKHK56 SELLER 100% positive since 07.

You asked what I am looking for. There are a lot of items, I should really work on a list. Starting from the top of the bike down, I have what I believe to be the original handlebars. They are not too bad for being 60 years old. I do not have the original throttle mechanism though. I would love to be able to run the cable through the bars. There are threads inside the right handlebar, but not the left. Do you have any of those parts?
