One of the fittings on my 55 KHK tank for the crossover line is bad order. Has anybody had these fittings replaced? Thanks, Mike

Mike I haven't yet but I think you could weld/braze a new nipple on tank. It's just a male pipe fitting matching the flared line. Should be available in steel. Or surely in brass. If paint is good that might complicate things. You could fill tank with water to keep cold just under area of welding.

I might be a bit overboard here. Normal. I imagine you could fit and solder sweat the fitting using hot iron, flameless method. Good heavy duty pipe flux, and good acid core solder with lead would seal it just fine. In that case the brass type nipple might accept solder more readily. The old tanks like my JDs, were 100% solder joints. Erik

Thanks, Erik. BTW, do you have any crossover lines? I bought a V-Twin re-pop but would rather have an original.
