Handlebar / triple tree fitment

Postby Mayday53 » Fri Sep 28, 2018 10:35 am

I have a difficult question, possibly. Did Harley make the handlebars so there is a little bit of flex forward and aft? I ask because when everything is tightened down it seems like they’re still a little bit of flex, almost like the feel of rubber bushings compressing, when pulling forward or aft.

The handlebars are mounted in "handlebar rubber riser bushing", part #56158-49 in the image below, so depending on their condition, this might be the motion what you are feeling. Do you also have part# 56159-49 "handlebar riser screw rubber washer" in the assembly?

Kurt, you had a typo on the rubber washer. It is a 49 P/N same as the bushing. The handlebars flexing forward and back is completely normal. Mine moves a fair amount.

Thanks fellas, mine move “very slightly” but forgot about rubber bushings. I am happy now!
