Model 65 Generator

The Model 65 was the first 12 volt unit used on Sportsters. It is similar to its predecessor, the six-volt Model 61, but a twelve-volt armature and field coils are used. The terminals on the Model 65 are in the same position as the Model 61. There was a problem with sticking brushes - the paper insulator used under the insulated brush holder would swell, causing the brush to stick. About halfway through the 1965 model year, this problem was solved, and it was replaced by the Model 65A.

Sorry, no photos yet. Being a half-year only part makes this generator difficult to find.
