Model 61 Generator Drive Gear Question

What is the difference in the generator drive gear for a 1958-1962 (31071-58) and the one for a 1963-later (31071-63)?
I picked up a Model 61 generator for my 1962 CH, but it's a 1963-1964 model, which uses the "31067-63 washer, oil separator".
Can I just substitute a regular SAE flat washer? Or do I really need a different gear?
Thanks - Dave

the gear NEEDS to match the camcover, not the generator.
the -58 gear has the oil separator one-piece with the gear, that contacts a naval brass spring loaded face sealing bushing that is captive in the cam cover.
if you dont have a 99451-63 parts catalog get in touch with these people to get one. its a freaking great deal too.

Dr. Dick,
I already got one of those catalogs from Bill's - and yes, it is a great deal. I also have a 1954, 1957, and 1965. Another great deal - if you have an older model - available from your local Harley dealer for $40, is the Operation, Maintenance, Parts Listing and Specifications for 1950 to 1957 (p/n99414-93). It has Rider's Handbooks for K, KH and 57 Sportster as well as a K/Sportster parts book through 1957.
The 1963 catalog illustration shows the -63 gear and washer. Does the -58 gear look similar to the -52 gear used for K's and 57 Sportster? Anyone got a spare?
Thanks - Dave
