Can a Sportster pinion case race (24585-57) be substituted for a KH race (24585-54) ? Is there a difference other than a groove for a set screw?

I don't have a K Model race. You could work it out by measuring what you have. Can you not find a K race ?

The races I've found are oversize. Listings in catalogs are contradictory and confusing.

The sportster race does not have the internal snap ring grooves like the K model.

A standard right side case race for a 1955 KH appears to be unavailable. Can a Sportster race be substituted?
