Hi, I buy parts from Betts Ind that will fix that. I sent the photos to Dave for sizing. :) The Socket #920103 "B" at the page top slides right in the housing. The Pigtail #920150 "E" at the page bottom is the other part. The stock cloth wires can easily be soldered in place of the ones provided. May have to remove most of the new socket bracket to allow it to slide up more into the housing, if needed. Maybe. Just have these staged, will do actual procedure tomorrow and see exactly the depth and fastening info. Erik K

How do you contact Betts Ind? Is that an abbreviation for "Indian"?

OK Google 'Betts Industry'. Than go to 'lighting'. Than under 'cables and electrical' find 'socket: shock mount'. A pdf will pop up with page. The Socket at top of page and Pigtail at bottom are what you want. $5.26 I couldn't size the attachments with my phone so I sent to Dave for resizing. Should show here later. My new computer will be here soon. Betts Industry another fine quality local business. Erik K

This little lamp holder is steel and Semi Truck quality. It is perfect for making custom lights or repairing lights.

Will the socket take a 6 volt bulb?

1154 6v or 1157 12v should be correct!

OK great news the Socket slides up in the hole from rear and when bottomed out there is just barely room to insert the tailamp bulb. Almost need to take about an 1/16" off the tube to make the socket sit a hair deeper to make changing bulb easier. I don't have the hood with me but it almost looks like the hood will retain the socket by pushing on the socket base tabs when installed. Or extra base material could be removed and you could solder or braze it in place. The Socket is steel and the housing tube is brass. This will work! Erik K
