Brake Light Switches

Postby starcain » Thu Jul 01, 2021 7:58 am

Anyone have any knowledge on the different screw terminals on the 72004-52 switches? Most ones that we see are the flat terminal. The raised lip one is a mystery. A person might almost think that the wire eyelet would fit over the lip but the eyelets I have for the brake light switch won't fit over it. Securing the eyelet on top of the lip doesn't make much sense either. There would be far less contact area on the lip compared to the flat terminal. Anyway, just curious.

Maybe the fiber disc was installed backwards?

Boy, that's a good thought. Need to find some information out on what the inside looks like on a fiber disc one. I have pictures of what a plastic disc looks like and there is
no indication of the raised lip to the inside. Are the fiber disc ones different in some way, I don't know.

Looking at it- seems like the grommets could have been left off by a manufacturing error. Not unheard of.
