Oil hose clamps?

On page 2B-4 , picture 2B-4 I noticed the hoses on the oil tank fittings were secured by what looks like twisted wire. Was this ever used by the factory?

Roger M asked me to post this for him. He says the wires were "0.058 brass wire, each one 3" long, 10 to a set".

The twisted brass wire was stock in the XLCH up to and including 1961 if I'm not mistaken.

the wires are copper not brass.
the picture in above post shows the untouched factory parts and assm on a 60 ch.

A hi fi green 60 CH if I recall correctly.....
