Note  1 This bolt has a plain smooth head with no markings (no circle F), and is mis-identified in the Spares book from 1952-1958 as a 5/16"-18 NC bolt, when in fact it is a 5/16"-24 NF bolt. Spares book also calls out bolt length incorrectly, via various typos, but correct length is 3-1/4".
Note  2 7725 is the incorrect P/N for this nut. The correct P/N is 7727, which is a "special" thin 5/16-24 NF Flexloc nut, similar in thickness to a jam nut, and used for "Buddy seat front end bolt nut" and on Panhead rocker arm studs. A standard 7725 Flexloc nut will not fully engage on bolt 4082 when 6329 washers are present.
7725 - Full length conical ended Flexloc nut - 0.338"
7725 - Full length square shouldered Flexloc nut - 0.350"
7727 - Short conical ended Flexloc nut length - 0.265"
7727 - Short square shouldered Flexloc nut length - 0.255"
Note  3 This part is shown in the illustration, but not in the parts listing. See Miscellaneous Listings (hardware) section.
Note  4 Most lines observed have been cad-plated copper, but cad-plated steel lines are known to exist.
Note  5 Most lines observed have been cad-plated copper, but cad-plated steel lines are known to exist, as well as rarer versions with lead-tin plating.
Note  6 Rubber lines. Early 1954 advertising photos show 1952-1953-style steel lines
