1959 XLH

Just a couple quick photos of 59xlh2895 which has been in my family since 1968 (went through the chopper phase for a lot of years). Have a lot of old documents (phots, titles, bills of sale from previous owners from 1965, 1967) just have to figure out best way to upload all of it so can tell the long story through the years. Started trying to get back to somewhat stock about 20 years ago, still some more things left.
Hope these attachments open, otherwise I'll keep trying.
Love OSKRG, still learning things at 67 yrs. old.

Great job so far on getting that 59 back to stock...I'm slowly doing the same to my 62. It's definitely a labor of love

thanks for the reply, if you're in need of certain things let me know what you're looking for I have some duplicate original OEM items in good condition. 59-65 we're pretty much the same with the exception of the gas tank.

Thanks for the offer on the spare parts. The only part I'm having trouble tracking down is the correct kicker/sprocket cover that's not all beat up. I see they have an aftermarket one for about $300 but I'd prefer an original if I can find one. Keep up the good work on your 59 and let me know if you have a spare you'd be willing to part with.

Thanks For Now, Dean

Glad to hear you have just about everything except that kicker/sprocket cover. Many have been cracked & been welded, which if done right can be almost undetectible. I don't have one but where I'm located in bay area ca there are still some old timer shops that aren't all about new bikes and parts. I'll check around with them and keep my eye open, will send you contact info if anyone has one in good condition. I've learned to never give up, sometimes patience is tough but pays off.

I've checked around with most of the shops here in southeast Pa. with no luck. We have the Oley antique swap meet coming up soon...I'm hoping I can find one there. Half the fun is tracking down these old parts. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me...much appreciated

I saw it, and bid on it, but it was way over my pay grade. Mine has been repaired/welded, and I'd like a better one. But not for $320

Ouch! that bid up way too much. I'll check out my local guy, he had his own shop for 30 years I got a few good things from him in the past, he retired but still keeps the shop to store old bikes and parts. Will let you know if he has one.
