There should be no "TT" on the VIN pad.

Curious, what was he asking for the engine? Any other race parts at his booth?

Yes, they have a 1/4-speed oil pump but that would be impossible to determine on the assembled engine.

The factory 1/4 speed pumps do have a small "R" stamped into the pump body, however you are right - can't tell what gears are in it until it's apart!

I'm not too bright on this subject. What's the advantage or disadvantage of a slower oil pump, especially on a race engine?

I wondered the same thing. I thought maybe it pumps too much oil running at high RPM for long sustained periods.

Hi Zeamo,

Would you have a good shot of the other side?

It has a rare 1970 Waffle Iron XR750 twin Tillie conversion of which I have very few details. Used at Daytona 1970, that's about it. Soon after they stated cutting/welding the heads...

1/4 speed oil pump on racers: typical HD logic...

The K/KH and KR engines kept too much oil in the cases...
K/KH not too much trouble, not enough revs used
KR at 7500rpm was in trouble

But rather than increase the scavenge to inlet ratio in the oil pump (about 2 to 1 std), they just put less oil in by slowing the pump...

Not useless, but not far...
