This Forum is for members to describe the restoration process they used in building their bike - in a series of postings describing each step from acquisition through road-worthy.
This is NOT a general discussion forum. Sit back and learn the techniques - and mistakes - that another member has gone through.
You may ask questions of the member who started the topic, but most of the postings within a topic should be submitted by the member who started the topic.
Headlight brow had some scrape marks. Carefully blended them in with a fine file and stone, followed up by a lot of hand polish with increasing fine paper and WD40 wetting agent. Last step was Autosol. I think Autosol brings it close to the factory sheen. Other compounds can make it too shiny.
After sitting on the shelf 20 years at my place and probably close to 40 years somewhere else, it almost seems a shame to use these NOS mufflers. I can't imagine a more deserving project to use them on though. I do have a repop set that is very nice quality, but there is nothing like these OEMs.
